Method Mondays: PA-X Peace Agreements Database and PeaceRep
Featuring guest speaker Dr Sanja Badanjak, Chancellor’s Fellow in Global Challenges at the University of Edinburgh’s School of Law and Data Manager for PA-X Peace Agreements Database and Dataset.
Join online to learn about PA-X Peace Agreements Database and PeaceRep’s approaches to studying peace processes.
The Peace and Conflict Resolution Evidence Platform (PeaceRep) consortium is working on a variety of research projects related to better understanding the key features and prospects of contemporary peace and transition processes. At the heart of the programme is the PA-X Peace Agreement Database and Dataset, the largest fully digitised and searchable English-language database of peace agreements, which also features a human-coded dataset of peace agreement provisions and a corpus of agreement texts. This talk will present PA-X and related data resources, discussing the PeaceRep approach to data collection, and the text-as-data methodologies we rely on to better understand how processes of post-war political and institutional change can take place.
The Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution (George Mason University) host Method Mondays online via Zoom.
