The Decolonisation Group invites you to the book launch for Visions of African Unity, as edited by Frank Gerits and Matteo Grilli.

Visions of African Unity, edited by Frank Gerits and Matteo Grilli, explores the historiography of various African unification and Pan-African projects. This includes the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), and their impact on the Cold War and liberation struggles.

The book gathers perspectives from a diverse range of scholars across disciplines, including history, law and international relations, and considers the sometimes conflicting ideals behind projects aimed at unification. The book includes a chapter by PSRP’s Dr Kathryn Nash: Embracing State Security: The Peace and Security Norms and Structures of the Organisation of African Unity 1963-1993
