Policy Brief: Women, Peace and Security in the Age of Fragmentation
Authors: Laura Wise, Salma Yusuf, Kasia Houghton, and Fiona Campbell
In this policy brief, the authors draw on reflections from an expert workshop and their own reflections to identify key findings and recommendations for policymakers supporting WPS and peace-making interventions in fragmented conflicts. These include key insights on challenges to the WPS agenda, including the impact of fragmentation multimediation, a lack of resources, the climate emergency, and the proliferation of digitial technologies.
The authors also emphasise the need for feminist coalitions, contextual action and strategic allyship, and suggest that local/regional peacemaking offers hope for WPS.
