PSRP research informs OECD's States of Fragility 2020
Research from the Political Settlements Research Programme has contributed to the States of Fragility 2020 report from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
States of Fragility 2020 examines the dramatic impact of Covid-19 on the global state of fragility and sets out a policy agenda at a critical turning point. The report cites PSRP research and data on global ceasefires, gender provisions in peace agreements, and the nature of local peace agreements.
Chapter 1 uses data from the Covid-19 Ceasefires Tracker to illustrate the response to global ceasefires declared during the pandemic.
Chapter 2 of the report looks at Peace, Fragility and Fragile Contexts, including ways to support the long-term local capacity for sustaining peace in fragile contexts. This section cites the PSRP report, Untangling Conflict: Local Peace Agreements in Contemporary Armed Violence by Jan Pospisil, Laura Wise, and Christine Bell, which outlines how local peace agreements represent the diversity and the splintered nature and patchiness of contemporary armed conflict.
In the Annex, the authors also cite PSRP data from the PA-X Gender Peace Agreements Database to assess the rate of inclusion of gender provisions in peace agreements involving fragile contexts.
