Gender and Peace Processes Short Course Applications Now Open
PeaceRep’s five-week online course for peacebuilding professionals provides an overview of the latest developments in the field of gender, peace and security, with a focus on gender inclusive peace processes in a rapidly changing world. The September intake will take place from 16 September – 25 October 2024.
Open to all, the five-week course aims to build knowledge capacity in gender inclusion in peace processes, particularly among peacebuilding professionals in international organisations, non-governmental organisations, government, and/or academia. Students will learn how to use leading PeaceTech and data tools to assess gender inclusion in peace processes and strategize for inclusive change. Each week will cover a different topic related to gender inclusion and peace processes, including the Women, Peace and Security agenda, gender perspectives in peace agreements, and the challenges of advocating for gender inclusive peace processes in fragmented contemporary conflicts.
PeaceRep Research Fellow Laura Wise will lead the course. An expert in her field, Laura has previously worked with UN Women to support women engaged in peace processes in Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and Libya.
Apply by 30 June 2024 to be part of the September 2024 cohort.
