Making inclusive peace a reality: virtual launch of the PeaceFem mobile app
New ‘PeaceFem’ mobile app supports women to mediate in peace processes
PSRP is delighted to introduce the new PeaceFem mobile app on women and peacemaking. Join us for the launch event, Making inclusive peace a reality: virtual launch of the PeaceFem mobile app on Tuesday 30 June. Full event details below.
PeaceFem brings together data on women and peacemaking in one easy-to-use app in English and Arabic. The app was designed to support women’s rights advocates in influencing peace process negotiations, particularly in the Arab world, but also beyond. It provides information on 30 key peace processes around the world, where gender inclusion was a key feature of the peace settlement. The app provides information about the strategies used to include women; the enabling and constraining factors that enabled women; fully searchable gender provisions in the peace agreements that resulted; and information as to how well they were implemented. Read more.
The app has been developed in collaboration with UN Women, InclusivePeace, the Monash University Gender, Peace and Security Centre, and the Political Settlements Research Programme at the University of Edinburgh.
PeaceFem is available to download from the Google Play store and the Apple Store.
